Layer breeder farm
A pullet rearing house plus two production turnkeys on centre-belt community nests, with weighed feeding and full climate control.
Broiler breeder and layer breeder houses, from pullet rearing through production, designed, built, and equipped by AFI for Philippine conditions.
Every broiler placed and every layer housed begins in a breeder house. A breeder house must control feed intake bird by bird, manage males and females as two populations under one roof, protect egg quality from the moment of lay, and hold a stable, light-tight environment through brooding, rearing, photostimulation, and production. AFI has delivered breeder farms across Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Every AFI system decision traces back to one of them.
Broilers are fed to appetite; breeders are fed to a programme. A weighed daily ration, delivered fast and evenly to every bird, keeps hens on their body-weight curve. Uniformity is the foundation of persistent lay.
Fertility depends on managing males as their own population: their own ration, their own feeders, their own targets, and a spiking area to introduce replacement males as the flock ages.
Hens need somewhere better to lay than the floor, and eggs need to leave the nest before they can be soiled. Nests, slats, egg belts, and the egg room form one controlled flow.
Day length and intensity drive maturity, onset of lay, and persistency. The house produces exactly the light programme the flock needs, and keeps every other photon out.
Males and females placed and brooded
Grown to uniform body-weight targets
To the production house at point of lay
Weighed feeding, nests, light control
Replacement males keep fertility up
Clean and fertile, to the hatchery
In the brood-grow-lay (All-In All-Out) model, one house carries the flock from day-old through lay. In the two-house model, a dedicated rearing house grows the flock to transfer, then a production house takes it through lay. Dedicated male rearing houses are also supplied.
One flock, one age, one clean-out. All-In All-Out breaks disease carryover between flocks, and a dedicated spiking area lets replacement males be introduced without breaking the single-flock rule.
Four house types cover the breeder cycle. All share the same AFI building system and climate backbone; the equipment fit-out is what changes.

Reference configurations. Final configuration, capacities, and equipment ratios are determined per project by site conditions, breed requirements, building dimensions, and equipment integration.
From day-old chick to the hatching egg.
A daily bin on load cells, weigh or dump scales, and on the current specification a feed batch weigher with automatic dosing to each mini hopper: female and male lines separately. The controller sees the weight, so the day's ration is a number, not an estimate.
A dedicated male fill line, Chore-Time Model G Plus rooster feeders winched out of reach of the hens, and dedicated male drinking lines: two systems, two rations, one calm house.
Two proven nest configurations, chosen on house width, flock size, and how the operation wants to run egg collection. Both deliver into a full-width egg collection room, so eggs leave the house without traffic entering it.
Closed Lubing nipple lines split from the centre of the house, with separate female, male, and spiking-area lines. Every house gets a water inlet panel with filtration, a Dosatron medicator, and a pulse water meter wired to the controller.
Insulated, sealed doors, light-trapped dog houses, and brown light traps rated at 21,000:1 light reduction, so a midday tropical sun reads as darkness at bird level. Rearing houses are dark-out capable.
AFI fits breeder houses with the DACS MagFan 3, designed for floor-kept birds, so minimum ventilation over brooding runs on the same fans as tunnel ventilation in the hot season.
In a breeder house every inlet is also a light path. TPI side wall inlets are hooded and light-trapped, so minimum ventilation runs without breaking the dark house. On AFI's newest layer breeder houses, TPI 6000 series tunnel units close the cooling pad openings outside tunnel mode.
Chore-Tronics 3 Breeder Edition is the AFI breeder standard. For farm-wide connectivity, AFI fits Hotraco Fortica with the Fortus platform: the specification on AFI's newest breeder contracts.
Chore-Time Ultra-Ray infrared radiant heaters warm birds and litter directly, with Dura-Therm LPG space heaters where whole-house heating suits the operation. Heater control is integrated with the environmental controller and brooding curves.

Every project is a working reference. AFI arranges site visits for prospective operators on request.
Every AFI breeder house is delivered with a written warranty, a spare parts kit on site, and a technician on farm for the full first flock. Training covers control units and the lighting programme, minimum ventilation for brooding, chain and male feeding, drinking and dosing, nest management, and maintenance.
Every project follows one structured engagement model, so buildings, equipment, and environmental systems function together as a complete facility.
